1. Start the Visual Basic editor (press ALT+F11).
2. On the Insert menu, click Module.
3. In the Module sheet, type the following code:

sub insert_name
   selection.name = inputbox("Please enter a name for the current selection")
end sub
				

Run the macro Insert_Name, and enter the name you want when the Microsoft Excel dialog box appears.
