In Microsoft Excel, if a Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications procedure is started by an OnSheetDeactivate command and the procedure then closes the workbook in which it is contained, you may receive the following error message:
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.
If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.
If you click Details, you receive an error message similar to the following:
EXCEL caused an invalid page fault in module EXCEL.EXE at
015f:3003f7c7.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs only if you delete a sheet by clicking Delete Sheet on the Edit menu, or Delete on the sheet tab's shortcut menu; it does not occur if you deactivate a sheet by switching to another sheet.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
