WD2000: Tables Not Supported in HTML to RTF Conversion in Outlook 97 (213402)

SYMPTOMS

When you send an e-mail message using the new Office Mail feature in Outlook 97, the Hypertext Markup Language (HTML)-to-Rich Text Format (RTF) conversion process does not support tables. The conversion process does not remove the table content, but removes the table formatting.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, upgrade to a version of Microsoft Outlook that supports table formatting. For example, install either Outlook 98 or Outlook 2000.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
