XL2000: Changing Protected Document's Properties with Visual Basic Macro (213394)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Excel, you can change the document properties of a protected workbook through a Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications macro, even though you cannot manually change the document's properties.

To bring up the Document Properties dialog box (where Document is the name of your document), click Properties on the File menu. To protect your workbook, click Protection on the Tools menu, and then click Protect Workbook.

NOTE: When you protect the structure of the workbook, the Properties command on the File menu is no longer available.
