OL2000: (CW) Cannot Add cc:Mail Address to Net Folders Subscriber List (213014)

NOTE: The procedures in this article only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Corporate or Workgroup option. SYMPTOMS

New Net Folder subscribers don't show up after selecting them from a cc:Mail Address list.

CAUSE

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

To make the cc:Mail addresses usable with the Net Folders feature, add them to the Personal Address Book (PAB). Add the PAB to your mail profile if it is not there, and then add the cc:Mail addresses to it. You can then use the cc:Mail addresses via the PAB for folder sharing.

To Add the Personal Address Book

  1. On the Tools menu, click Services.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Click to select Personal Address Book, and then click OK.
  4. Click OK to close the windows and accept the defaults.
  5. On the File menu, click Exit and Log Off, and then restart Outlook.

To Add cc:Mail Addresses to the Personal Address Book

  1. On the Tools menu, click Address Book.
  2. In the Show Names From list, click to select cc:Mail Directory.
  3. Click to select the names you want to add to the PAB by either holding down the SHIFT key and clicking to select contiguous entries, or by holding down the CTRL key and clicking individual entries.
  4. Right-click one of the entries and then click Add to Personal Address Book.
  5. Close the PAB.
Some advanced features are not available when using Outlook as a client for cc:Mail. Inconsistencies between the cc:Mail address book and Outlook address book formats prevent Outlook users from adding Net Folder recipients from a cc:Mail address list.
