OL2000: CTRL+C Key Combination in the Stationery Picker Deletes Selected Text (213012)

SYMPTOMS

If you use the edit function in the Outlook Stationary Picker and press CTL+C while you have text selected in the Preview box, the text is deleted.

CAUSE

The Preview box in the Edit Stationery dialog box is designed to control the message font and background look of stationery. It is not a full-featured editor, such as Microsoft Word. Using any CONTROL key combination while text is selected in the Preview box results in deleting the selected text.

RESOLUTION

Do not use CONTROL key combinations while in the Edit Stationery dialog box. If you need a full-featured HTML stationery editor you should consider using Word and saving your file in HTML format. The default location for Outlook stationery and its associated graphics is C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Stationery.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Outlook 2000.
