PUB2000: Followed Hyperlinks Disappear With Some Backgrounds (212579)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Publisher 2000

This article was previously published under Q212579

SYMPTOMS

Hyperlinks you have created in Microsoft Publisher disappear after they have been visited once.

CAUSE

When you create text hyperlinks, you must specify a color of the link before it is visited and a color of the link after it is visited. If the color of the hyperlink after it is visited is the same color as the background of your page, the hyperlink will "disappear" after it is followed one time. This behavior is by design.

RESOLUTION

If you experience this problem, change the color of the visited hyperlinks. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. On the Format menu, click Color and Background Scheme.
  2. Click the Custom tab.
  3. Under Scheme Colors, click the arrow in the New List to the right of Followed Hyperlink and select a different color.
  4. Click OK.
