WD2000: Progress Meter Remains Visible in Status Bar After Error (211514)

When you run the Batch Conversion Wizard, the following error message may appear:
Word cannot complete the conversion of this file <filename>. Would you like to continue with the batch conversion?
where <filename> is the name of the file that caused the conversion process to halt. If you click No, the progress meter, which appears in the status bar, remains visible.
CAUSE
This problem occurs when the drive that contains your Windows Temp folder has run out of space.
WORKAROUND
To correct this problem, do one of the following appropriate for your situation:
Method 1: Restart Microsoft Word
Quit and restart Word. If you are unable to quit Word, press CTRL+ALT+DEL to show the Close Program dialog box. Click to select Microsoft Word and click End Task.
Method 2: Delete Temporary Files
Use the following steps to delete any Microsoft Word temporary files that remain on your hard disk drive:
- Quit all Windows applications.
- On the Windows Start menu, point to Find and click Files or Folders.
- In the Named box on the Name & Location tab, type the following:
- Change the Look in box to the drive that contains the Windows Temp folder. For example, change the Look in box to your C: drive.
- Click Find Now.
IMPORTANT: Make sure that all of the files found begin with the tilde (~) character. - On the Edit menu, click Select All.
- On the File menu, click Delete.
- In the Named box on the Name & Location tab, type the following:
- Change the Look in box to the drive that contains the Windows Temp folder. For example, change the Look in box to your C: drive.
- Click Find Now.
IMPORTANT: Make sure that all of the files found end with the .tmp extension (*.tmp). - On the Edit menu, click Select All.
- On the File menu, click Delete.
Restart Microsoft Word and rerun the Batch Conversion Wizard.
