WD2000: Envelope Prints Upside Down on HP DeskJet 694C Printer (210330)

SYMPTOMS

When you print to an envelope, the envelope may print upside down (rotated 180 degrees).

CAUSE

The clockwise rotation option is turned on by default in Word when you use the Hewlett Packard DeskJet 694C printer.

This problem occurs with any of the following Hewlett Packard DeskJet 694C printer drivers:
  • Hewlett Packard DeskJet 670/690 version 9.03

    -or-

  • HP DeskJet 694C version 3.36

WORKAROUND

Turn the clockwise rotation option off using the following steps in Microsoft Word:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Envelopes and Labels.
  2. On the Envelopes tab, click Options.
  3. On the Printing Options tab, click to clear the Clockwise rotation check box.
  4. Click OK to close the Envelope Options dialog box.
