ACC2000: Unable to Change Permissions (Security) (209721)

This article applies to a Microsoft Access database (.mdb) and to a Microsoft Access project (.adp).

SYMPTOMS

When you try to open an object or change permissions for an account, you may receive one of the following error messages:
You can't view this object's permissions.
-or-
No permission for object name.

CAUSE

Only the database creator, a member of the Admins group in the workgroup in which the database was created, or a user with administrator permissions on a particular object has full permissions to database objects.

RESOLUTION

Contact your database administrator. If you are the database administrator, check to make sure that you are logged in as a user who is a member of the Admins group. If you still have the original user Admin, make sure that it is a member of the Admins group and try again.
