SYMPTOMS

When you install the Microsoft Client for NetWare Networks while Driver Signing is enabled, you may receive the following warning message:
Warning
Hardware vendors may request that Microsoft test their software with Windows. Microsoft digitally signs software it has tested with Windows. Microsoft's digital signature guarantees that the software has not been altered since it was tested by Microsoft.

Caution: Microsoft has not digitally signed the software you want to install.

Unknown software package

Do you want to continue with the installation?
Also, the Netware.tmp file may be noted as not being signed. Note that if you ignore this message, the service can be installed successfully.

CAUSE

This issue can occur because the Netware.tmp file is a temporary file that is not signed, but is signed after it is renamed during a reboot. The Driver Signing feature does not recognize the Netware.tmp file as being signed, and because of this, it generates the warning message listed earlier in this article.
