WD2000: Clipboard Toolbar Is Missing When You Copy an Item (204831)

When you copy an item (text) to the Clipboard, the Clipboard toolbar does not appear. As a result,you can copy and paste only one item from the Clipboard at a time.
CAUSE
If you close the Clipboard toolbar three times in a row without using Paste All or any of the item buttons, the Clipboard toolbar no longer appears automatically, and the Microsoft Office Assistant displays the following message:
It looks like you don't want the Clipboard toolbar to appear automatically. You can display the Clipboard toolbar by pointing to Toolbars on the View menu, and then clicking Clipboard.
RESOLUTION
To display the Clipboard, use one of the following methods.
Method 1: Turn On the Clipboard Toolbar
To display the Clipboard toolbar again, point to Toolbars on the View menu, and then click Clipboard. When you display the Clipboard toolbar manually and then click Paste All or click an individual item, the count is reset. After that, the Clipboard toolbar appears automatically again.
Method 2: Reset the Tips
To display the Clipboard toolbar, reset the Office Assistant tips. To do this, follow these steps:
- Right-click the Office Assistant. If the Office Assistant is not appearing, click Show the Office Assistant on the Help menu.
- Click Options on the shortcut menu that appears.
- On the Options tab, click Reset my tips.
- The Office Assistant displays the following message:
You have just reset your tips for this application. You may see tips you have seen before.
Click OK to close the Office Assistant dialog box.
