WD2000: Nothing Happens Clicking Edit Picture for Clip Gallery Object (204753)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to edit a Clip Gallery object by clicking Edit Picture on the Edit menu, nothing may happen.

CAUSE

Microsoft Photo Editor 3.0 may be selected as the picture editor in Word.

NOTE: Clip Gallery pictures can only be edited by using Microsoft Word.

RESOLUTION

Edit the picture by using Microsoft Word. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  2. On the Edit tab, in the Picture editor list, click Microsoft Word, and then click OK.
  3. Select the Clip Gallery object and click Edit Picture on the Edit menu.
The picture now opens in the Word Picture Editor.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
