Problems Using Banyan Vines 32-Bit Client with Virtual Private Networking (204642)

After you install the Banyan Vines 32-bit network client on a computer with Microsoft Virtual Private Networking installed, the Banyan Vines Ethernet protocol for Microsoft Windows 95 appears to be bound to nothing in the Network tool in Control Panel, and the default adapter is the Microsoft Virtual Private Networking adapter. If you then reboot your computer after installing this network client, the Banyan Vines network client and protocol are removed from the Network tool in Control Panel.
CAUSE
This problem can occur after you install the Banyan Vines 32-bit network client on a computer with Microsoft Virtual Private Networking installed.
RESOLUTION
To work around this problem:
- After you install the Banyan Vines 32-bit network client on a computer with Microsoft Virtual Private Networking installed, do not immediately reboot your computer. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Network.
- Click the Banyan Vines Ethernet protocol for Microsoft Windows 95, and then click Properties.
- Click the Network Adapter tab, and then change the adapter that the Banyan Vines Ethernet protocol is bound to.
- Change the bindings of the network adapter you are using so that the Banyan Vines Ethernet protocol is bound to it. Click OK, close all open windows, and then restart your computer.
