This article was previously published under Q203886 SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Word 2000, when you create a new style and name the style "Section 1," and then you save your document as a Web page, you find that when you close and then reopen the Web page, all of your text is formatted with formatting contained in your new style.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because the style name "Section1" is reserved for the internal use of Word. The same is also true of another name, "msoSec1", which is also reserved for the internal use of Word.
WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, when you create new styles, name your new style something other than "Section 1" or "msoSec1."
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Word 2000.
