SYMPTOMS

When you paste text from Microsoft WordPad into a Microsoft Works word processor document, the text may be pasted as an embedded object.

RESOLUTION

To paste the WordPad text into the word processor document as text instead of an embedded object, follow these steps:

  1. Copy the text in WordPad.
  2. Open a Works word processor document.
  3. On the Edit menu, click Paste Special.
  4. In the As box, click Formatted Text (RTF), and then click OK.
