SYMPTOMS

You cannot open Visual J++ 1.0 projects in Visual J++ 6.0.

RESOLUTION

Do one of the following to resolve this problem:

  • Create an empty project in Visual J++ 6.0. Click Project...Add Item and add the necessary Visual J++ Version 1.0 files to the empty project.

  • Import your Visual J++ 1.0 (.mdp) project into Visual J++ 1.1. Save the project as a Version 1.1 (.dsw) project. In Visual J++ 6.0, click Open Project, select the Visual J++ 1.1 (.dsw) project, and save it as a Visual J++ 6.0 project (.sln).

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
