To minimize the usage of hard disk space, Picture It! installs a minimum number of files to the hard disk, leaving the majority of the files on the compact disc.

MORE INFORMATION

A complete installation of Picture It! will take approximately 549 Megabytes (MB) of hard disk space in addition to the hard disk space that is used by the installation. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. On the Start menu, point to Programs, and then click Windows Explorer (or click Windows NT Explorer for Microsoft Windows NT).
  2. Locate the Picture It! folder, and then double-click it.
  3. In the Picture It! folder is a folder called Content.

Click the Content folder. In the right pane are four subfolders - Creation, Pict_art, Projects, and Sprocket. Move any content that you have placed in these folders, into another folder.
  4. Select the four subfolders by pressing CTRL+A.

Press DELETE to delete these four subfolders.
  5. Click to select the CD-ROM drive, and then expand its subfolders.

Click to select the Content folder. In the right pane, you will see the four folders previously mentioned and several additional folders. Click the Creation folder, and press SHIFT+. Click the Sprocket folder. This will select both folders, as well as the Pict_art and Projects folders.
  6. Use the drag and drop technique to copy the folders from the CD to the Picture It! Content folder on the hard disc drive.
  7. When the files have finished copying, select the Picture It! Content folder on the hard disk.

Press CTRL+A to select all the folders that you just copied.
  8. Right-click any of the selected folders, and then click Properties.

In the Properties dialog box, click to clear the Read-only and Hidden check boxes, and then click OK.
  9. Quit Windows Explorer.
When you run Picture It! and request content that resides on the CD. Picture It! will prompt you to insert the CD into the CD-ROM drive. If you click Ignore, Picture It! will read the content from the hard disk.
