OL2000: (CW) Messages Marked Private Not Visible in Secondary Mailboxes (198597)

NOTE: These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Corporate Workgroup/Other option. This option allows you to use Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) services. To determine your installation type, on the Help Menu click About Microsoft Outlook. In About Microsoft Outlook you should see "Corporate" if you have the Corporate Workgroup installation.

SYMPTOMS

E-mail messages that you mark as Private are not visible in the Inbox of a secondary mailbox, although the unread message counter for the Inbox indicates that you have new, unread mail.

RESOLUTION

These steps must be performed by the owner of the mailbox that will be viewed by the delegate as a secondary Inbox.

  1. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Delegates tab.
  2. Click Add, type the desired name or select it from the list, and click Add.
  3. Click OK.

    The Delegate Permissions for the selected person is displayed.

    Click to select Delegate can see my private items, and any other designed settings.
  4. To close the options, click OK twice.
