PRJ98: Rounding Error Displayed in Task Cost (198350)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Project 98, when you enter a value in the Cost field or when you change the percent complete of a task, the task's cost may be displayed as rounded up or down by one cent ($0.01). This rounding may also be reflected in the Cost field for a related summary task.

NOTE: The cost for the task will remain correct even though the value is displayed with the rounding error. When the task becomes 100 percent complete, the correct cost will be displayed with no rounding error.

CAUSE

This behavior may occur when you enter a value in the Cost field or you change the percent complete for a task.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
