OL2000: Error Opening Corel Address Book After Installing Outlook (197884)

NOTE: These procedures only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Internet Mail Only option. To determine your installation type, click About Microsoft Outlook on the Help menu. If you have the Internet Mail Only option installed, you see "Internet Mail Only".

SYMPTOMS

When you open the Address book in Corel Suite 8, you may receive the following error message:

An error occurred trying to logon to MAPI for address book services.
There was an error starting the address book

CAUSE

You have installed Outlook in the Internet Mail Only installation option. The IMO Option only uses a stub of the MAPI32.dll. The Corel Address Book requires full MAPI-capability to function correctly.

RESOLUTION

In order to use the Corel Address Book, you must change your installation type to the Corporate Workgroup version of Outlook.
