During Windows 2000 Setup, a blank screen with vertical lines may appear. After Setup restarts your computer, your screen may appear to be normal for a period of time, then the vertical lines may reappear during the graphical user interface (GUI) portion of Setup.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you are using a video adapter with the Trident 9660 chip set. Windows 2000 does not provide support for the Trident 9660 chip set.

RESOLUTION

To work around this behavior, use a supported video adapter.
