When you start Microsoft Word 6.x for the Macintosh, one of the following
error messages may appear:
Under System 7.x:
The application "Word 6.0.1" cannot be opened because
an unexpected error occurred.
Under System 8.x:
The application "Microsoft Word" could not be opened
because "Microsoft OLE2-StglsStorageFileFSp" could not
be found. CAUSE
This problem may occur if you have Epson Photo Sheet installed; this
installs the extension OLESS.ppc.
Some Epson printers include a CD that bundles several printing-related
programs. The program Epson Photo Sheet Installer installs an extension
called OLESS.ppc into the Extensions folder. This program comes bundled
with the Epson Stylus Photo 700, Stylus Photo EX, and possibly other Epson
printers.
RESOLUTION
Remove the OLESS.ppc file from the Extensions folder.
According to Epson, removing the OLESS.ppc file does not affect an Epson
printer's ability to print. For more information about the functionality of
this extension, contact Epson Technical Support.
