SYMPTOMS

When you view your Outlook Today page in Microsoft Outlook 2000, the font sizes may be small or mismatched, words may overlap, or colors may not display as expected.

CAUSE

You selected one or more of the accessibility formatting options in Microsoft Internet Explorer.

RESOLUTION

To correct the appearance of Outlook Today, follow these steps:
  1. Quit Outlook.
  2. Start Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01, and on the View menu, click Internet Options.

NOTE: In Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0, click Internet Options on the Tools menu.
  3. On the General tab, click Accessibility.
  4. Click to clear the "Ignore colors specified on Web pages," "Ignore font styles specified on Web pages," and "Ignore font sizes specified on Web pages" check boxes.
  5. Click OK, and OK. You may want to exit Internet Explorer also.
When you start Outlook and view Outlook Today, the fonts and colors will display as expected.

If the steps above do not correct the problem, please continue with the following:
  1. Start Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 and on the View menu, click Internet Options.

NOTE: In Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0, click Internet Options on the Tools menu.
  2. On the General tab, click Colors.
  3. Click to select Use Windows Colors.
  4. Click OK, and then click OK again.

MORE INFORMATION

Because Outlook Today is created using Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) and uses a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) to link to its page, it displays the colors you select as the default Internet colors.

To make these color settings the same as your Windows colors, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click the Internet icon.
  3. On the General tab, click Colors.
  4. Click to select Use Windows Colors.
  5. Click OK, and then click OK again.
