PPT97: Branch Presentations Ignore Animation Order Settings (195463)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft PowerPoint 97 for Windows
This article was previously published under Q195463 SYMPTOMS
If you have a single slide that contains multiple PowerPoint presentation
objects, the objects always play in the same order if you start them using
Custom Animation settings on the Slide Show menu in PowerPoint 97.
CAUSE
When you place more than one PowerPoint presentation object on a slide
and set their Custom Animation settings or Animation Settings to Show, the
branched presentations follow the Animation Order that is set in the Custom
Animation dialog box.
RESOLUTION
To run the objects in the order you want, use the Action Settings command
on the Slide Show menu in PowerPoint 97.
For each branched PowerPoint presentation, click the presentation object
and then follow these steps:
- On the Slide Show menu, click Action Settings, and then click either the
Mouse Click or Mouse Over tab.
- Click to select the Object Action option. From the list under
Object Action, select Show. Click OK.
- On the Slide Show menu, click Custom Animation, and click the Play
Settings tab.
- In the Object Action drop-down list, select Don't Play, and click OK.
