When you try to view a Help topic in the MSDN Library, a dialog box titled "Microsoft
Internet Explorer" containing text similar to following might appear:
Internet Explorer cannot open the internet site
mk:@MSITStore:XXX.chm::/YYY.htm
An unexpected error has occurred
Where XXX is the fully qualified path to a .chm file, and YYY is an HTML
file for the topic contained in the .chm file.
CAUSE
This error message can occur if the location where you installed the MSDN Library no
longer contains the .chm file containing the topic you want to view. This
might happen if you installed the MSDN Library from a local area network, and the MSDN
site on the network is partially removed.
RESOLUTION
Do one of the following to resolve this problem:
- Restore the site to contain the complete the MSDN Library contents.
- Uninstall the MSDN Library on your computer and reinstall MSDN from CDs or from a
network location containing the complete the MSDN Library.
