DSS80: Cannot Hear Audio Playback When Yamaha Station Starts (192006)

SYMPTOMS

When you insert a compact disc, you may be unable to hear audio playback through your computer's Universal Serial Bus (USB) port.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if Yamaha Station starts when you insert a compact disc.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, configure Windows CD Player or Deluxe CD Player to start automatically when you insert a compact disc.

NOTE: To do this, you may need your Microsoft Windows 98 CD-ROM, your Microsoft Plus! 98 CD-ROM, or the installation CD-ROM provided by your computer manufacturer.

To configure Windows CD Player to start automatically when you insert a compact disc, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
  3. Click the Windows Setup tab.
  4. In the Components box, click Multimedia, and then click Details.
  5. Click to clear the CD Player check box.
  6. Click OK, and then click Apply.
  7. Click Multimedia, and then click Details.
  8. Click to select the CD Player check box.
  9. Click OK, and then click OK again.
  10. Close Control Panel.
To configure Deluxe CD Player to start automatically when you insert a compact disc, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
  3. On the Install/Uninstall tab, click Microsoft Plus! 98, and then click Add/Remove.
  4. Click Add/Remove, and then click Next.
  5. Click to clear the Deluxe CD Player check box.
  6. Click Next, and then click Next again.
  7. Click Finish, and then click OK.
  8. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
  9. On the Install/Uninstall tab, click Microsoft Plus! 98, and then click Add/Remove.
  10. Click Add/Remove, and then click Next.
  11. Click to select the Deluxe CD Player check box.
  12. Click Next, and then click Next again.
  13. Click Finish, and then click OK.
  14. Close Control Panel.
