This article was previously published under Q190860

SYMPTOMS

When you start one of the programs listed at the beginning of this article, you may receive the following message:

Your screen is currently displayed in low resolution.

For the best looking display, open the Windows Control Panel, double-click Display, Click the Settings tab, and set Desktop Area to 800 x 600 and Font Size to Small Fonts.

When you click OK, the program starts.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if your computers display resolution is set to 640 x 480 pixels.

Home Publishing 99 and Greetings 99 were designed to be displayed in a resolution of 800 x 600 or greater.

RESOLUTION

While not a requirement, these programs look better when viewed at greater than 640 x 480 pixels. This setting does not affect the printed output or the way the project is displayed on other computers.

Selecting the Don't Show This Message Again check box prevents this message from reappearing.

To change the display resolution, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Display.
  3. Click the Settings tab.
  4. Move the Desktop Area or Screen Area slider to the 800 By 600 Pixels setting.
  5. Click the Appearance tab and verify that the Font Size setting is Small Fonts.
  6. Click OK, and then close Control Panel.
