To specify a schedule to scan for viruses, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Plus! 98, and then click Maintenance Wizard.
  2. Click "Change my maintenance settings or schedule," and then click OK.
  3. Click Custom, and then click Next.
  4. Click the time at which you want Windows to run maintenance tasks, and then click Next.
  5. Click Next, click Next, and then click Yes Scan For Viruses Regularly.
  6. Click Reschedule.
  7. In the Schedule Task box, click the interval at which you want to scan for viruses.
  8. In the Start Time box, click the time of day at which you want to scan for viruses.
  9. Depending on the interval you selected in step 7, click the following choices to customize the time(s) at which Windows runs Virus Scan:

    • The number of days between virus scans (Daily)
    • The day of the week on which Virus Scan is run and the number of weeks between virus scans (Weekly)
    • The day of the month on which Virus Scan is run (Monthly)
    • The specific date on which Virus Scan is run (Once)
    • The number of minutes the computer has been idle for (When Idle)
    NOTE: If you clicked At System Startup or At Logon in step 7, you cannot select the time of day at which you want Virus Scan to run.
  10. Click OK.
  11. Click Next four times, and then click Finish.
