Plus! 98: Assertion Failure While Copying Files to Hard Disk (189846)

When you attempt to install Plus! 98, you may receive an assertion failure
dialog box while files are being copied to your hard disk.
- If you click Yes, you receive the following message:
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be
shut down.
If you click Details, you receive the following error message:
Setup caused an exception 03H in module Kernel32.dll.
- If you click No, you receive the following message:
An error occurred while Setup was copying files. Your Setup
location may be corrupt or missing files. Microsoft Plus! 98 was
not fully installed.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if the Microsoft Windows swap file is too small.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, increase the size of the Windows swap file. To do
this, follow these steps:
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click System.
- On the Performance tab, click Virtual Memory.
- Click "Let Windows manage my virtual memory settings. (Recommended)."
- Click OK, and then click Close.
- When you are prompted to restart the computer, click Yes.
