Attempting to install Visual Studio 6.0 on Windows NT 3.51 causes the
following error:
The Installation Wizard only runs on Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0 or
newer operating systems. Some of the Server Applications can be
installed on a Windows NT 3.51 system. See the Readme topic "Running
Server setups on Windows NT 3.51" for more information.
MORE INFORMATION
Visual Studio 6.0 requires a 32-bit version of Internet Explorer in order
to run. There are no 32-bit versions of Internet Explorer available for
Windows NT 3.51.
Visual Studio 6.0 will not install on Windows NT 3.51. This includes each
of the developer tools in Visual Studio as well:
Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0
Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0
Microsoft Visual J++ 6.0
Microsoft Visual InterDev 6.0
Microsoft Visual FoxPro 6.0
Some of the Server components of Visual Studio 6.0 will install on Windows
NT 3.51. These include the following components:
SQL Server 6.5 (DEV Edition)
SQL Server Debugging Service
