You receive an error message when you try to install IntelliType software on a Windows 98-based computer (189628)

When you try to install the Microsoft IntelliType software on a
computer that is running Microsoft Windows 98, you receive the following error
message:
This program may not run correctly on Windows 98 because of enhanced
operating system features. For information about obtaining an updated
version, or help regarding workarounds for known issues, click Details.
If after reviewing the Help topic you still want to continue, click
Run Program.
When you click Details, you receive the following error message:
Important
IntelliType software version 1.0 and version 1.0a are compatible with
Microsoft Windows 98. However, if you enable the "SnapTo" feature using
the IntelliType Manager or the Keyboard Control Panel, you will not be
able to use your Start menu correctly. If you do not use the "SnapTo"
feature, disregard this message.
An updated version of the IntelliType software (11p32upd.exe) resolves
this issue and is available for download at:
http://www.microsoft.com
Even though this error message says to download the 11p32upd.exe update, you cannot install the 11p32upd.exe update on a computer running Windows 98. CAUSE
This behavior occurs because the IntelliType software is not
fully compatible with Windows 98.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, download the latest version of the Microsoft IntelliType software. To do this, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
MORE INFORMATION
Windows 98 directly supports the Microsoft Natural Keyboard and the
Microsoft Natural Keyboard Elite, so the IntelliType software is not
necessary.
Note Some features in the IntelliType software, such as Keyboard Sounds, are not provided by Windows 98.
