Uncompressed Folder Inside Compressed Folder Does Not Open (189384)

SYMPTOMS

When you double-click an uncompressed folder located inside a compressed folder, the folder may not open, even though you have recently opened the folder and worked with its contents.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if both of the following conditions are true:
  • You used Windows Explorer (by clicking the Explore command on the shortcut menu) to open the uncompressed folder.
  • You pressed the BACKSPACE key to move up a level in Windows Explorer.
After you quit Windows Explorer, you can no longer open the uncompressed folder located inside the compressed folder.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, close and reopen the compressed folder. After you reopen the compressed folder, you can double-click the uncompressed folder to open the folder.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Plus! 98, version 1.0.
