Read-Only Attribute Lost When Copying Files from NetWare Volume (189191)

SYMPTOMS

When you use the COPY command at an MS-DOS prompt in Windows 98 to copy read-only files from a NetWare volume, the read-only attribute may not be applied to the files.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the MS-DOS COPY command does not have the ability to copy NetWare file attributes.

RESOLUTION

Use the Novell NCOPY command to copy the files instead of the MS-DOS COPY command.
