SYMPTOMS

When you use a PC Card modem with a Gateway 2000 Solo 2100 or 2200 laptop computer, you may not hear modem sounds.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the computer is attached to a Gateway Solo Mini-Dock docking station.

RESOLUTION

To work around this behavior, remove the computer from the docking station. If you need to hear modem sounds while the computer is docked, use an external modem.
