When you run Heroes of Might and Magic by New World Computing in
Windows 98, clicking an object with the mouse may leave a residual
rectangle on the screen.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you are running the game in full-screen mode

To work around this behavior, use either of the following methods:
Method 1
Do not run Heroes of Might and Magic in full-screen mode. To switch from
full-screen mode, press the F4 key.
Method 2
Reduce your Hardware Acceleration setting in Windows 98 by following these steps:
- Click start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-
click Display.
- On the Settings tab, click Advanced.
- Click the Performance tab.
- Move the Hardware Acceleration slider one notch to the left of the Full
setting (to the Most Acceleration Functions setting).
- Click OK, and then click OK. If you are prompted to restart your
computer, do so.
