BUG: Java Applets That Use DirectAnimation Do Not Display (189064)

SYMPTOMS

Java applets that use DirectAnimation will not display in Internet Explorer 4.0x with the Java Console Enabled. To resolve this issue, clear the Java Console enabled option on the Internet Options Advanced Tab. After this, you will need to restart Internet Explorer, and then you will see your DirectAnimation applets appear.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
