PPT98: Animation Order Incorrect if Saving file in 4.0 Format (188527)

SYMPTOMS

If you save a PowerPoint 98 Macintosh Edition presentation in PowerPoint for the Macintosh, version 3.0 or 4.0 format, the animation effects may not play in the same order in the converted presentation as they do in the original.

CAUSE

In PowerPoint 98, you can specify the order in which objects are animated. This feature is new to PowerPoint 98. Earlier versions of PowerPoint for the Macintosh do not have this feature.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
