This article was previously published under Q188233

SYMPTOMS

When you view the Task Scheduler tool, the Last Run Time column may indicate that a scheduled task has completed even though the task has not completed.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur for either of the following reasons:
  • Two tasks are scheduled to start at the same time.
  • A task is scheduled to start while another task is still running.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, change the scheduled start time of one of the conflicting tasks so that only one task is run at a time. For information about how to do so, click Start, click Help, click the Index tab, type task scheduler, and then double-click the Modifying Tasks topic.
