Error Message: SGL.DLL File Cannot Start (188172)

When you try to start a Direct3D-based program, you may receive the
following error message:
SGL.DLL file cannot start
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you have a PowerVR 2 3D accelerator installed
in your computer.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
- Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-
click System.
- On the Device Manager tab, double-click the System Devices branch to
expand it.
- Click PCI Bus, and then click Properties.
- Click the IRQ Steering tab.
- If your computer uses Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI)
features, click to clear the "Get IRQ table using MS Specification
table" check box.
- If your computer does not use Advanced Configuration and Power
Interface (ACPI) features, click to clear the ""Get IRQ table using
ACPI BIOS" check box.
- Click OK, and then click OK. When you are prompted to restart your
computer, click Yes.

The Sgl.dll file is a dynamic-link library (DLL) file used by the driver
for the PowerVR 2 3D accelerator. Because it cannot be loaded, Direct3D-
based programs cannot start.
