XFOR: NNTP Service Won't Start; Err Msg: File Not Found (185769)

After you upgrade from the Microsoft Windows NT Option Pack Network News
Transport Protocol Server to the Microsoft Commercial Internet System
(MCIS) version 2.0 NNTP Server, the NNTP Service may not start. The
following error message appears:
File Not Found.
This problem usually results when the following occurs:
- You install the Windows NT Option Pack NNTP Server.
- Then you install the MCIS NNTP Server and select the Upgrade Only
option.
- The default path for c:\inetpub\nntpfile is changed to another
location.
CAUSE
Microsoft Commercial Internet System version 2.0 fails to find the
nntpfile if the default path is changed during the installation.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, do the following:
- From within the Microsoft Management Console, go to the Default NNTP
Server, right-click, and select Properties.
- Click the Home Directory tab, and modify the Local Path from
c:\inetpub\nntpfile to the correct path.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Commercial
Internet System version 2.0.
