Encarta Virtual Globe: Location Sensor or Measure Tool Is Not Displayed (185701)

SYMPTOMS

When you click the Location Sensor, Measure Tool or Map Legend commands on the Tools menu in Microsoft Encarta Virtual Globe, you may not see the tool window on the screen.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you reduce the screen resolution in Microsoft Windows.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Start Encarta Virtual Globe.
  2. On the Options menu, click Settings.
  3. Click to clear the Remember Window Positions Between Sessions check box, and then click OK.
  4. Quit Encarta Virtual Globe.

MORE INFORMATION

By default, Encarta Virtual Globe saves the positions of tool windows when you quit the program. If you reduce the screen resolution in Windows and then start Encarta Virtual Globe, the saved position of a tool window may be outside the visible area of the screen.
