WD98: Insert Character Not Working with TypeTamer (184941)

SYMPTOMS

When TypeTamer version 1.1.9 is installed, you are unable to use the TypeTamer Special Character dialog box (available under All) from the Font list on the Formatting toolbar.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use one of the following methods.

Method 1: Use the Insert Menu

  1. On the Insert menu, click Symbol.
  2. On the Special Characters tab, select the character that you want to insert, and then click Insert.

Method 2: Clear the "WYSIWYG font and style menus" Check Box

  1. On the Tools menu, click Preferences, and then click the General tab.
  2. Click to clear the "WYSIWYG font and style menus" check box, and click OK.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem with the products listed at the beginning of this article.
