IntelliPoint Error Message: Cannot Find the File 'A:\ISETUP.WIE' (184857)

SYMPTOMS

When you install IntelliPoint, you may receive the following error message:
Cannot find the file 'A:\ISETUP.WIE' (or one of its components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all required libraries are available.

CAUSE

This error message occurs because the IntelliPoint Setup program looks for the Isetup.wie file located on the IntelliPoint installation disk. You remove this disk from the drive at the end of the setup process before you restart the computer.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, click OK to close the error message dialog box, and then restart the computer. Note that this error message does not affect the IntelliPoint installation.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft IntelliPoint versions 2.0, 2.0a and 2.1.
