Err Msg: Cannot Find the File 'C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\STPCLNUP.EXE' (184850)

After you install the IntelliPoint or SideWinder software, when you
restart the computer you may receive the following error message
Cannot find the file '<drive>:\WINDOWS\TEMP\STPCLNUP.EXE' (or one of
its components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and that
all required libraries are available.
where <drive> is the letter of the hard disk on which Microsoft Windows
is installed.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if the Stpclnup.exe file is missing or damaged.
NOTE: The Stpclnup.exe file removes the temporary files that are created
when you run the Setup program.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, delete the Ixp00.tmp folder. To do this, follow
these steps:
- Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files Or Folders.
- In the Named box, type "ixp00.tmp", and then
click Find Now.
- Right-click the Ixp00.tmp folder, and then click Delete. If the
Ixp00.tmp folder is not found, restart the computer.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed in the applies to section of this article.
MORE INFORMATION
The Ixp00.tmp folder is created when you install the IntelliPoint and
SideWinder software. This folder contains the temporary files that the
Setup program creates.
