Incorrect Client Files Copied during SBS Installation (184814)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft BackOffice Small Business Server 4.0a
This article was previously published under Q184814 SYMPTOMS
When you install Microsoft BackOffice Small Business Server (SBS) version
4.0a from the upgrade CDs, you may inadvertently get an incorrect version
of the client update files.
CAUSE
This problem can occur if disk 2 from SBS version 4.0 is inserted during
the installation process rather than disk 2 from version 4.0a. Version
checking on the client portion of installation fails to check that the
correct disk 2 has been inserted and continues to copy files from the CD.
RESOLUTION
Verify that disk 2 from SBS version 4.0a is inserted when you are prompted,
rather than disk 2 from SBS version 4.0.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem
and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it
becomes available.
