OFF98: Cannot Access Apple Submenus with the Keyboard (184713)

When you use the keyboard to use the Apple menus from a Microsoft Office 98
Macintosh Edition program, you cannot use the arrow keys to select the
Apple submenus.
NOTE: Only the submenus on the Apple menu are affected; you can select
Microsoft Office submenus with the arrow keys.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, press RETURN while the main menu item is
selected. For example, to open the Date & Time icon in Control Panel from
within a Microsoft Office program, follow these steps:
- Press F10 to select the Apple menu.
- Press the DOWN ARROW key to select the Control Panels menu.
- Press RETURN, and then press F10.
- Press the arrow keys to select the Date & Time menu.
- Press COMMAND+O to open the Date & Time icon.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article.
