The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Project 98 for Windows
This article was previously published under Q184689 SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Project 98, when you change a task's Percent Complete to zero,
Project may stop responding, or you may receive one of the following
symptoms:
- Resource Units may change.
- Duration may change.
- A task's timephased work values might not equal the task sheet
values in the Resource Usage view or Task Usage view.
NOTE: If Microsoft Project stops responding, you may receive one of the following error messages.
In Windows 95
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.
If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.
When you click Details, you receive the following error:
WINPROJ caused an invalid page fault in module WINPROJ.EXE at <address>.
In Windows NT
An application error has occurred and an application error log is being generated.
WINPROJ.EXE
Exception: access violation (0xc0000005), Address: <address>.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs when you perform the following steps:
- After having saved a baseline for a project, you change the
Baseline Start on a task that has a Percent Complete
value greater than zero.
- You save, close and reopen that project.
- You set the same task's Percent Complete value to zero.
WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior, follow these steps:
- Select the task you want to change the Percent Complete value
to zero.
- On the Project menu, click Task Information.
- Change the Percent Complete to an intermediate value, not zero
(for example 10%) and click OK.
- On the Project menu, click Task Information.
- Change the Percent Complete to zero and click
OK.
