Gradient Fill Feature Does Not Work with 256 Colors (184604)

When you view a window's title bar (the bar at the top of the window), the
title bar may not display a fading effect between two colors (a gradient fill).
CAUSE
The behavior can occur if your display adapter is configured to use a
color palette of 256 colors or less.
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, configure your display adapter to use a color
palette of more than 256 colors. To do so, use the following steps:
- Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then
double-click Display.
- Click the Settings tab, under Colors, click High Color (16 bit), and
then click OK.
- Restart your computer when you are prompted.
