Determining Which Version of Microsoft Internet Explorer Is Installed
To determine which version of Internet Explorer is installed,
follow these steps:
- Start Microsoft Internet Explorer.
- On the Apple menu, click About Internet Explorer.
The version of Microsoft Internet Explorer appears near the top
of the About Internet Explorer dialog box. If the version is 3.01a or later,
the supported version of Internet Explorer is installed.
Installing Internet Explorer 4.0a
To install Internet Explorer 4.0a, use one of the following
methods. (Note that you should quit all running programs before you install
Internet Explorer 4.0a.)
NOTE: Method 1 is available only if you
have installed Office 98 from the Office 98 compact disc. If the Office 98
compact disc is not available, use Method 2.
Method 1: Installing Internet Explorer 4.0a from Compact Disc
To use the Office 98 compact disc to install Internet Explorer
4.0a, follow these steps:
- Insert the Microsoft Office 98 Macintosh Edition compact
disc into the CD-ROM drive.
- In the Microsoft Office 98 window, double-click the
Microsoft Internet folder.
- In the Microsoft Internet folder, double-click the Internet
Explorer 4.0 Installer icon.
